INTRODUCTION

THE EVENT

The World Congress on Endometriosis is held every two to three years, previously in Maastricht (2005), San Diego (2002), and London (2000).

The 10th World Congress on Endometriosis, WCE 2008, was held in Melbourne, Australia, from 11 to 14 March 2008.

WCE 2008 attracted upwards of 1000 delegates and accompanying partners. Whilst the majority of registrants were clinicians and scientists, a significant proportion of registrants were consumer advocates and trainees.

This World Congress is an important forum for the presentation and discussion of new developments in reproductive medicine, its associated disciplines and sciences.

Notes

  • WCE 2008 was run by the AGES Board and the WES Board with democratic governance
  • Thease are both academic medical not for profit societies
  • All funds are used for teaching, research and development in gynaecology and treatment of endometriosis
